The Mobile Association (TMA), founded December 2017, is a non-profit industry body whose focus is on designing favourable policies through advocacy and empowering the mobile device ecosystem in building a smarter, well-secured technology framework for the ultimate benefit of society at large. TMA represents over 200 mobile device brands and manufacturers from across the world who are currently catering to India’s billion plus mobile subscribers.
The Mobile Association device ecosystem includes: mobile brands, mobile manufacturers, mobile operators, mobile retailers, EMS/ODM players, chip manufacturers, OS players, app providers, M2M players, IoT vendors, start-up community, wearable vendors, mobile accessories, device testing labs and after market players.
Encouraging and supporting mobile eco-system to be self-reliant & secure leading to a fully developed connected society for generations to enjoy.
Promoting proliferation of mobile eco-system to the last person both in rural and urban regions through mobile devices using technology, innovation and advocacy.
Putting across views of TMA on all forums - Central government, state governments, regulatory bodies, international bodies and others.
Develop/Adopt or adapt standards related to mobile eco-system and its associated eco-system for the benefit of consumers.
Creating environment in India for increasing mobile manufacturing units and its eco-system and also creating environment for increasing the level of indigenisation.
Help Government of India in the development of technology standards and security standards as per national requirements.
Help Government of India to facilitate mobile terminal/device testing and certification of all mobile products for conformance, performance, interoperability, health and safety. Also testing of EMI/EMC/EMF to ensure safe-to-connect and seamless functioning in the existing and future networks.
To help mobile eco-system startup movement in the country to drive innovation in the country and also help other eco-systems like health, education, finance, governance, agriculture and others to be self-sustainable.
